
What's So Important About Digital Marketing?
Did you know that 85 percent of potential customers search online (and 80% use Google) for businesses and services? When they do zero in on a business, even before they contact that business, 80 percent read the businesses reviews to see if that business is credible and customer-oriented.
All good, right? Not so fast! Having a website and a Google listing with good customer reviews is certainly important; BUT (there's always a "but") what if when the potential customer searches Google, she doesn't happen to come across your listing? Shoppers are very impatient—they key in their search phrase, Google returns a search page with (only 10 free listings per page plus maybe 3 Google Business listings); she then quickly scans through those listings and maybe checks the second page (now she's viewed a maximum of 20+3 listings), and if your listing isn't shown on those two, you will not even be in the game! "Out of Sight, Out of Mind". You may have the best values in the marketplace, the best sales team, and the best customer reviews, but it won't matter because the potential customer will never see your listing.
You are selling cars—to your former customers and referrals. You are probably selling some vehicles through one or more of the marketing services (Cars.com, etc.) and paying them a hefty monthly charge for the privelege of displaying your listing —and some of the prospects from those services located outside your market area—and that's certainly a benefit of the service; but (there's that "but," again), the local customers (the ones who don't already know you) who are currently clicking on the marketing services and local car dealers' listings that are shown on page-one are the very prospects you need to grow your business and begin to DOMINATE your competitors!
Strategically, if these local customers would click on your website rather than the marketing services websites, you will have elimated 10s or even 100s of dealers offering 1000s of cars.
How Do I Know If I Have This Problem?

What We Do
If you read the section, "What's So Important About Digitial?", above, you will understand "What We Do" is about solving the lack of Google search exposure for businesses. We make sure our client's Google Business listing and websites are ranked on page 1 or 2 for relevant seach phrases, and strive to give our client dealer a Dominate Competitive Advantage over its local competition.
We also provide other services while we're fixing the ranking problem, such as: making sure that or Dealers are maximizing their Customer Reviews; that the marketing services (like Cars.com, etc.) are really earning their fees and "playing fair" with our Dealer; confirming that Google has indexed key webpages; and reviewing sources of the Client's advertising for their effectiveness.
Who We Are
IlluminateSuccess has been serving the Car Dealer Industry since 2010. Our founder and Principle, Roy Krag, created the system we use to help our clients grow their business and to digitally "dominate" their competition. Prior to founding this business, he served as a business consultant for 10 years specilizing in marketing and trouble-shooting after having had a successful career as a C-suite business executive.
Over the past 15 years, we have worked with large and small Dealers from around the Country including Dealerships in the cities of Houston & Austin TX, Oklahoma City OK, Slidell LA, Biloxi, Gulfport, Hattiesburg & Jackson MS, Mobile & Birmingham AL, Atlanta GA, Columbia SC, Nashville TN, Raleigh NC, Virginia Beach VA, Minneapolis MN, and Washingon DC.
How We Work
Before contacting a prospective Dealer, we do our homework. We identify a city with potential, and then spend time researching dealers to find the ones with the most potential for improvement using our proprietary systems. We typically identify the top 2-3 dealers who we feel will benefit the most from our services, but only contact one at a time. When we engage a dealer, we treat their territory as protected - we don't work for other Dealers that would be competitive.
The Process
Initial Contact: We contact a Dealer (typically by email and phone) and introduce ourselves and our service.
Step one: With the Dealer's permission, We submit a signed Confidentiality Agreement (click for sample) so we can temporarily access information on their business not in the public domain; and solicit relevant information from members of the Dealer's Team to help us prepare a Proposal. There is no cost to the Dealer for IlluminateSuccess to perform its research.
Step two: Based upon information gathered, we will submit a written proposal to the Dealer that offers two services and a summary of the payment structure.
Service One. We will offer a written Analysis & Recommendations identifiying ways that the Dealer can improve its profitablity, and increase its sales revenue. The Dealer will generally be able to execute these recommendations itself without IlluminateSuccess's assistance. The written Anaysis & Recommendations also includes an oral review. The cost is a one-time fee.
Service Two. We will propose installing our preprietary programming called Search Engine Targeting (SET) for top inventory Makes and the key phrases. This program is priced on a monthy performance-based fee schedule. No payment will be due until we have provided documentation of Google ranking of key seach phrases (such as "used Ford Truck for sale, Your Metro City", "used car dealer, Your Metro City", "used Mercedes Benz Dealer, Your Meto City"), etc., based upon the key Makes carried in inventory by the Dealer. Typically we recommend that the top 4-8 Makes that aggregate 60 percent of the Dealer Inventory be included.
Step Three: Dealer makes the decision of what, if any, service it wishes to purchase.
Step Four: The
Service Dealer elects will be executed by IlluminateSuccess
in accordance with the terms set forth in Step Two.
